Frequently Asked Questions

Booking Your Party

I am a civilian and don't have base access. Can I still come to your field?

Absolutely! Please refer to our Base Access Info section below on this page for all the information you need to know about getting on base and coming to our field.

What is the difference between 50 caliber and 68 caliber guns? How do I know which one I need?

50 caliber paintball is a lower impact paintball designed for kids under 10 to play real paintball, but without the intensity of the larger paintballs. The guns are lightweight and easy for kids to hold and shoot. This is ideal for 6-10 year old players, first time players, or even older players if they simply want to turn the intensity down a notch. This gun provides fun for players of all ages!

NOTE—IF YOU HAVE ANY PLAYERS IN YOUR GROUP UNDER 10 YEARS OF AGE, YOUR WHOLE GROUP MUST PLAY WITH 50 CALIBER EQUIPMENT. WE DO NOT MIX 50 AND 68 CALIBER GUNS UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES.

68 caliber paintball is “regular” paintball. This gun allows for quick shooting and fast action. This type of gun is available for players ages 10 and up only.

How do I schedule a paintball party?

We schedule all of our parties online here. We require all parties to be booked at least one week in advance so we can make sure your group gets base access.

Do I really need to make a reservation online? Or can I just show up to your field?

Due to Base regulations, we require all of our parties to be scheduled online and have waivers signed no later than one week in advance of your party. This is to ensure that everybody in your group has base access on the day of your party.

If you don't make a reservation but go on our website and fill out a waiver anyway, Splat Zone will not receive your information since it's not connected to a reserved party. This will result in you and your group being unable to get onto the base on the day of your party.

Even if you do have base access and show up at our field without a reservation, it is unlikely that we will be able to allow your group to play since our schedule is usually very full. Therefore it is highly unlikely that we would have any openings available for an unplanned group.

You can click here for a direct link to our party reservation page.

I just scheduled my party with you! What do I do now?

Once your reservation is confirmed, you will receive an email containing important information including driving directions to our field, our waiver policy, which gate to enter, our contact information, etc. Please read this information and pass it along to everyone who will be in your group. This will prevent people from getting lost or being confused about anything and losing time on your party due to getting lost.

Waiver Information

What is your waiver policy?

All players are required to sign a waiver to be able to play paintball. Players ages 18 and older can sign the waiver for themselves. Players ages 17 and younger absolutely MUST have a waiver signed for them by their legal parent or guardian only. Please note that waivers signed for a minor by someone other than their legal parent or guardian are null and void and will not be honored by Splat Zone Paintball.

All adults who wish to enter the base MUST sign a waiver even if they are not going to play paintball. The reason for this is that the waivers include information we need to turn into Security forces to allow you base access on the day of your party.

Everyone in your party (all minors and all adults) MUST sign the waivers on our website NO LATER than the Tuesday before your party date at 5pm. That is the cutoff time to make the Base Security Forces list for the weekend. Any person who does not have their waiver signed on our website before this cutoff time will not be allowed access to the base. Splat Zone Paintball does not have authority to override the base security rules, so we are not able to allow base access to anyone who misses this deadline.

All of our waivers are signed electronically on our website at www.splatzone.net. Or you can click here for a direct link.

What is the deadline for turning in waivers?

Everyone in your party (all minors and all adults) MUST sign the waivers on our website NO LATER than the Tuesday before your party date at 5pm. That is the cutoff time to make the Base Security Forces list for the weekend. Any person who does not have their waiver signed on our website before this cutoff time will not be allowed access to the base. Splat Zone Paintball does not have authority to override the base security rules, so we are not able to allow base access to anyone who misses this deadline.

What happens if somebody in my group does not turn in a waiver by the deadline?

Splat Zone Paintball has an agreement for a system with Barksdale Air Force Base that allows civilians onto the Base to play paintball on our field. We do this by having all adults (even those who are not playing paintball) sign a waiver on our website to collect the necessary information (click here for the link). It is per the Base rules that all information for our customers be turned into them no later than Tuesday at 5pm prior to the weekend of their party. Any person who signs a waiver after that time will not be on the list for the weekend and therefore will not have base access. Splat Zone Paintball does not have authority to override Base security rules, so we are unable to allow base access to anyone who misses this deadline.

Someone in my group missed the deadline for turning in waivers. Can't you just give them base access anyway?

Unfortunately, no we cannot do this. Splat Zone Paintball does not have authority to override the base security rules, so we are not able to allow base access to anyone who misses the deadline. For more information on our waiver policy, click here

Can I sign a waiver for somebody who is not my child?

Absolutely not. Players ages 17 and younger absolutely MUST have a waiver signed for them by their legal parent or guardian only. Please note that waivers signed for a minor by someone other than their legal parent or guardian are null and void and will not be honored by Splat Zone Paintball.

If I am not playing paintball but want to be with my group at the field, do I need to sign a waiver?

Yes. All adults who wish to enter the base MUST sign a waiver even if they are not going to play paintball. The reason for this is that the waivers include information we need to turn into Security forces to allow you base access on the day of your party.

How do I sign a waiver for myself or my child to play paintball at Splat Zone?

Simply go to our website at www.splatzone.net and look for the "Sign Waiver" tab at the top of the page (or click here for a direct link).

Base Access Info

I am a civilian and I don’t have base access. How do I make sure everyone in my group can get onto the base?

You need to book your party online at least one week in advance. After you book, everyone in your group must sign a waiver (located here on our website).

Minors (age 17 and under) need to have their legal parent or guardian sign the waiver for them. Any waiver signed for a minor by someone other than their legal parent or guardian is null and void and will not be honored by Splat Zone Paintball.

All adults in your party need to sign a waiver even if they are not going to play paintball. The reason for this is that the waivers include information we need turn into Security Forces to allow them onto the base.

Please note that it is EXTREMELY important for all waivers for your group to be signed online NO LATER than 5pm on the Tuesday before your party. That is the cutoff time to make the Base Security Forces list for the weekend. Any person who does not have their waiver signed before this cutoff time will not be allowed access to the base. Splat Zone Paintball does not have authority to override the base security rules, so we are not able to allow base access to anyone who misses this deadline.

Where are you located?

We are located on the east side of Barksdale Air Force Base at Clear Lake Park. Click here for driving directions.

What information do I need to get onto the base?

Barksdale Air Force Base requires the following information for any vehicle entering the Base--

  • Valid Driver's License
  • Current Vehicle Registration
  • Current proof of vehicle insurance
  • Current vehicle inspection sticker

What rules do I need to know once I am on the base?

Base Security Forces are all over the Base, even though you might not be able to see them. Make sure you follow the speed limit, wear your seatbelt, and don't text or talk on the phone while driving. Also, it's not a good idea to try to bring a firearm onto the base (yes people have tried this, and no it did not end well for them).

I am uncomfortable giving up my personal information to be allowed base access. How do I know my information will be safe?

Please be assured that Splat Zone Paintball does not keep any sensitive personal information. We collect the information that the Base Security Forces requires for you to gain base access (Drivers License number, birth date, and last 4 numbers of your Social Security number). We then send that information directly to Security Forces to put you on the approved access list for the day of your party. Splat Zone does not keep that information and we do not have access to it once we send it to Security Forces.

What time should I arrive for my party?

In order to make sure your party starts on time, your party should arrive at the Base East Gate 30 minutes before your party is scheduled to start. This allows you plenty of time to get through the Base gate, drive to our field, and get your group checked in so the fun can begin!!! You can find driving directions here

General Paintball Questions

Can I bring my own equipment to use?

Yes you can! Please note that all customer guns brought to our field will be calibrated to 280 feet per second by a trained Splat Zone employee before the gun is allowed to be used at our facility.

All players who bring their own equipment must have a mask, barrel cover and compressed air tank. If you don't have any of these items, Splat Zone will let you borrow them at no cost while you are at our field. Any lost or broken parts will be added to your final bill at the end of your party at retail price.

Can I purchase additional paint for my group?

Yes. All of our packages include 500 rounds of paint per player. If you wish to purchase more paint, the price is $20 per bag of 500 rounds or $60 for case of 2000 rds.

Once my group arrives and is ready to play, who will take care of my group, and what are my responsibilities?

We treat all of our guests at Splat Zone Paintball like VIPs. As such, we want you to relax and enjoy your paintball experience with us. We will take care of safety rules and enforcement, running and supervising all paintball games, and answering any questions you may have.

Will I be able to watch any games being played as a spectator?

Splat Zone Paintball offers a safe viewing area for spectators. This allows you watch your loved ones on the field and in action! All while remaining at a safe distance behind a certified safety net.

Is there an age limit for playing paintball?

The minimum age for playing paintball is 7 years old. Please note that all players under 10 years of age are only allowed to shoot 50 caliber paintball guns.

How many fields do you have?

We have 2 playing fields.

One is a woods field, with over 5 acres of space to hide and play! This field has plenty of trees, forts and bunkers to hide behind and ambush your target!

Our second field is called the Graveyard. This is a large field made up of real air force bomb crates (without the bombs, obviously). Since we are on an air force base, we thought we’d take the theme and run with it.

What is the maximum number of people I can have in my group?

There is no maximum! Our motto is the more the merrier. Splat Zone Paintball is equipped to handle groups of any size.

Will it hurt if I get shot?

The paintballs break open upon impact, and generally cause very little pain. What pain is experienced is more of a stinging sensation from the paintball's impact against the skin or through clothing. In general, the stinging pain goes away after about 30 seconds. Of course, the closer you are to the muzzle of the gun, the higher the velocity of the paintball when it hits you. Thus, more pain may be experienced when shot at close range rather than farther away.

Do you offer chest protectors?

Yes we do offer chest protectors. The rental price is $5 per player.

Will the paintballs stain my clothes or equipment?

Paint is water-soluble and should wash out easily with hot water. However if left untouched more than 24 hours, some paint does tend to stain.

What should I bring?

Paintball is a physical sport, so make sure to bring plenty of fluids for your group to drink so no one gets dehydrated.

We are an outdoor field on 10 acres of land, and since we have so many critters in the south, it would be a good idea to bring bug spray so you don't get eaten alive!

Sunscreen is good to bring, even on cloudy days to prevent sunburn.

Driving Directions

How do I get to your field?

It is extremely important to follow the directions below INSTEAD OF putting our address into your GPS. Using a GPS will only get you lost since our address is not yet located on most GPS software systems.

To get to our field, get onto I-20 and take exit 23, which is the Industrial Drive exit. If you are coming from Shreveport, turn right off the exit. If you are coming from east of Bossier, turn left off the exit.

Almost immediately you will see a gas station on your left. Turn left immediately after that gas station and go over the railroad tracks. Follow that road and that will take you directly to the East Gate. Tell the guard at the gate you are here to play paintball and you are on the EAL security list. Do NOT tell them you are here for a "birthday party" because the Base does not make security lists for those, and they will not let you onto the Base.

Once the guard lets you through the gate, turn left onto the main road and drive 1.2 miles. You will see a road on your left with a military gas station on the corner. Turn left onto this road (there will no road name sign, but it's the only road you can turn left on). After you turn left onto that road, drive for 2 miles and start slowing down. Look on your left for a brown sign that says Clear Lake Park. This is where we are located. You can pull into the park and park your vehicle anywhere along the side of the road.

Once you arrive, you will be greeted by a Splat Zone employee. You will be directed to your assigned tables and we will start your party at the scheduled time.

Can I enter your address into my GPS and find your field that way?

This is not recommended. Because it’s a Base address, most people who try to find us via their GPS end up about 10 miles away from where our field is located, and that puts them about an hour late to their own party. We recommend instead following these driving directions

What happens if I try to enter the wrong gate?

There are 3 different gates to enter the base. However, the ONLY gate our customers can enter is the East Gate, which is off of Industrial Drive. Specific driving directions are located here. Because our customers are on a security list specifically for our paintball field, the East Gate is the only gate that would have your information, and would therefore allow you to enter the Base. The guards at any other gate will deny you base access since they don't have your information. So it is extremely important to follow the directions listed in the bolded link above in this article.
